PROGRAM

TAKANAWA PITCH

To create global co-benefits *1, we are holding a pitch contest for startups with technologies and services that contribute to solving social issues. We are seeking business ideas based on the following four themes, with the aim of creating a fulfilled life a century into the future. Utilizing TAKANAWA GATEWAY CITY *2, partner companies, primarily JR East, will support these ideas.

*1 Reassessing current economic activities that place a heavy burden on the Earth and striving for profits that harmonize the Earth and humans.
*2 As part of the Shinagawa Development Project, the project will inherit the historical background of the area as the gateway to Edo and the memory of innovation as the site of Japan's first railway, and will work to create a city that will continue to give birth to new businesses and cultures as an "experimental site for a fulfilled life a century into the future," with the development concept of "Global Gateway."

Focusing on four themes (① Environmental Protection, ② Mobility and Robotics, ③ Healthcare, ④ Regional Revitalization), the event will feature booths showcasing technologies and services for solving social issues, aiming to create global co-benefits. (Other areas include Entertainment, Global, and Others.)
LiSH (TAKANAWA GATEWAY Link Scholars' Hub) member startups, local partners, the JR East Group, and other startups are scheduled to exhibit. A business negotiation area will also be set up.

    JR East Design Corporation (JRED) is an architectural design firm and a member of the JR East Group. We provide planning, design, and construction supervision for many types of projects, such as railway stations, commercial facilities, offices, and hotels. One of the projects we have worked on is TAKANAWA GATE WAY CITY (THE LINKPILLAR1 NORTH/SOUTH and others). We have worked on railway projects in both large cities and local areas. From this experience, we focus on safety, function, and good design. We try to create spaces that blend well with the local community. In recent years, we have also started to use digital technologies such as BIM, point cloud data, and 3D visualization. By using these tools, we are working to improve our design process in a smarter and more efficient way.

    Digital archiving is a way to preserve historic buildings and exhibits for the future. Using 3D scanning and modeling, we recreate them in digital space, where they can be saved and shared. This allows us to pass on valuable architectural records to future generations.

DEMONSTRATION

TAKANAWA GATEWAY CITY is being developed based on the concept of being an "experimental site for a fulfilled life a century into the future."
At GATEWAY Tech TAKANAWA 2026, we will utilize the large outdoor space in front of the station to conduct large-scale demonstrations, including driving and test drives of mobility, which would be difficult to do on public roads or in existing facilities.
Rather than just “talking” about ideas and products, we will operate, try out, and experience them,” this town will take a definite step towards social implementation.

CONFERENCE

The event will feature speakers from startups, businesspeople, large corporations, researchers and experts from Japan and abroad who are at the forefront of innovation to solve global issues, focusing on the themes of global co-benefits and creating a fulfilled life a century into the future.
Through sessions focused on the four major themes of Environmental Protection, Mobility and Robotics, Healthcare, and Regional revitalization, we will provide visitors with diverse perspectives and ideas for realizing global co-benefits.

KEY FEATURES

EXPRESS PITCH

Approximately 100 exhibiting companies will give quick 4-minute pitches. Each company will introduce their services, highlights of their booth, and the types of people they hope to connect with. The pitches will take place on a special stage within the same venue as the booth exhibition area, and will proceed at a brisk pace, accompanied by the sound of JR East trains departing, according to themes (① Environmental Protection ② Mobility and Robotics ③ Healthcare ④ Regional Revitalization ⑤ Entertainment ⑥ Global ⑦ Other). Feel free to stop by, whether you are seated or standing.

NEXT FRONTIER

We will be holding a poster session showcasing cutting-edge research seeds. Focusing on research related to four major themes, leading figures such as recipients of NEDO's public-private partnership program for discovering young researchers and researchers from the University of Tokyo will present innovative ideas. Through interaction with researchers, you will gain access to cutting-edge knowledge and have the opportunity to connect research seeds with major corporations for new collaborations and commercialization. We aim for this to be a starting point for creating a richer life 100 years from now.

SPECIAL CONTENTS @Gateway Studio

TOUCHLESS EXPERIENCE

We will be holding an experience event for a "walk-through ticket gate" using UWB*. You can experience "seamless" ticket gate usage that doesn't require touching. In addition, Sony Corporation, which is collaborating with us on technology such as Suica, will be showcasing touchless payment using UWB.
Regarding the TOUCHLESS EXPERIENCE zone,No ticket is required, and it's free for everyone to experience.
